Client Management: The Key to Building and Maintaining a Thriving Homeopathic Practice You studied diligently and you work hard to find great homeopathic remedy choices for your clients. That part is important; however, all of the interactions you need to have with clients comprise much more than just finding a good remedy!  In order to have a successful and thriving practice, you need practitioner skills to help you deal with clients in everything besides the remedy.     Come to a full day class with Karen Allen, CCH to learn skills you need including defining and drawing in the practice you want, getting clients anchored with you, proactively preventing client mischief through appropriate boundaries, dealing with your worst fears about difficult clients, and building an assurance of client satisfaction into your work day.  Our practices grow best from referrals from satisfied clients.  Creating client satisfaction starts with the first contact and continues through every interaction you have. Here is what you will gain in this one very full day of class:    Clients coming in to your practice determining your ideal clientele: identify your strengths, envision your clientele, the homeopath's manifesto of practice quick identification of clients you want to avoid:  clear mismatches with your workstyle or interests, high maintenance / time intensive clients, risky litigious clients getting potential clients to schedule: effective client dialogues, connect with THEIR interest, offer clear options, set the appointment, anchor the client's connection to your practice, handholding for new clients, how to deal with people who schedule and cancel repeatedly, being 'homeopathic' to the client's way of interacting with you setting expectations and manner of interaction: holding the healing space for the client, and defining the rules of engagement by which the client's success will be measured     Clients consults within your practice opening and closing rituals: ways to enable yourself to be present with clients without carrying any of their difficulties home with you defining and holding space: how the nature of your physical space affects consultations and clients, using physical and energetic space to facilitate healing secrets of listening - more than casetaking:  no matter how good your remedy selections, clients will not stay with you if they do not feel 'heard' or 'seen' use of placebo and nocebo: understand how you can amplify the action of a remedy protocol in an overt way with your client, supported by current research on suggestion see it from the client's viewpoint: understand the risk a client, especially one who has chronic illness, takes in coming to see you, being sure to provide value from the first consult    Clients interactions with you as a practitioner use of power, influence, and authority as healing agents: learn to use these powerful tools to maintain a supportive relationship as a client's  healing ally projection, transference and counterprojection in clients: understand how client's engagement with you constitutes much more than the overt conversation nonverbal communication from clients:  hearing the client's message in their body language, facial expression and behaviors providing support outside of consults: defining your strategy, teaching clients what you expect/require, encouraging client participation money, payments, barter, professional courtesy, pro bono work: understand the implications and appropriate boundaries on all of the financial interactions with a client time management: determining appropriate time boundaries and gracefully enforcing them, connecting compensation to time unhappy clients (eeeeek!): engaging with clients who are upset about aggravation / money / time / attention / threatening / inappropriate / demanding / clingy methods and purposes of client referral: why and when to move a client along to another practitioner; how to refer onward with integrity auditing your practice: how to do this painlessly, and why you need to know how you are performing with your clients  Clients interactions with other practitioners my other practitioner said to stop taking my remedy!:  working as part of a client's team of resources, dealing with ego and bias using client reports to generate continued referrals: writing a professional status report to a colleague - do/ don't / why / wherefores for doing this well HIPAA regulations about client privacy:  safeguarding and sharing information about a client with other practitioners     Clients interactions: legalities of practice and professional ethics requirements within California under health freedom legislation:  learn the boundaries of what can and can not be done legally as a healthcare practitioner professional ethics: guidelines for client interactions within and outside of the consulting room supervision and mentoring: not just for students, this is a career-long part of every healthcare profession, learn the recommendations and methods for this support of you and your practice   Bring your questions and challenging client scenarios for discussion. The bottom line is that being an accurate selector of remedies is not enough. A full and thriving practice is based on good client management every time: drawing the clients that you can work with effectively, interacting constructively with them, meeting their needs in a way that is sustainable and respectful for all concerned, and working within the legal and ethical framework for homeopaths.  If you want to help your practice grow, come to this class to reach beyond the puzzle of how to find a good remedy, and develop yourself as a healthcare practitioner!  You and your clients will benefit.'   ACHENA (Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America, formerly the Council on Homeopathic Education) continuing education accreditation applied for; this class will provide 6 hours of continuing education credit. became a interested in homeopathy after an injury sidelined her from her career as an airline pilot. While flying she received her MS in Natural Health and began studying at the Institute for Classical Homeopathy in San Fracisco. 

Working for over 4 years at the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center, at the clinic, she has gained invaluable experience, as well as her private practice in San Francisco and Willits, CA, 150 north of San Francisco.
