Women`s Health Focus:Hashimoto`s Thyroiditis (2 hrs) $40 April 3 TUESDAY NIGHT 5-7 pm PST
Just in time for Mother`s Day, we turn our attention to one of the tender spots of Women`s Health: the breast. Our clients present with an array of breast complaints, from simple mastitis and fibrocystic breast tissue to painful swelling with menstrual or lunar cycles, questions about the safety of mammograms and needle biopsy titanium markers, leaking silicone breast implants, production ofmilk in non-lactating women, through to serious complaints of breast cancer, mastectomy trauma and surgical restoration. This course reviews basics of pathology, coaching clients on pros and cons of conventional assessment and intervention, important breast warning signs suggesting broader issues, and practical lesional and tissue affinity therapeutics illustrated by case examples.
Women`s Health: Eating Disorder Sequelae in Casework (4 hrs) June 7 / 14 TWO THURSDAY NIGHTS 5 - 7 pm PST $75 Eating disorders are estimated to affect from 8 million people in the US at any given time. Often this is during difficult high school and college years, and healthier patterns of eating are resumed in the following decade. The impact of the eating disorder can remain as an issue in the endocrine and reproductive function of the client, affecting fertility later. In this course, we will use cases of 3 specific clients to review the body / mind sequelae of eating disorders, coaching for clients who still occasionally binge/purge or have obsessive ideation about food, and both constitutional and lesional therapeutics. Learn what to look for to identify these clients - there is much shame about eating disorders and many clients will not volunteer this information unless carefully asked. NOTE: This class will not be addressing working with clients with active eating disorders, only the after-effects.
Men`s Health: Sexual & Reproductive Health (6 hrs) Alastair Gray and Karen Allen will be teaching this webinar together! June 2 SATURDAY Noon-2 pm / 2:30-4:30pm / 5-7pm PST $110
Scheduled by request from those of you who were not able to attend the San Francisco weekend seminar on this topic! Alastair brings his thorough and informative teaching to join Karen in this class devoted to men. The first session will have Alastair presenting information on working with men, how they are different as clients, and why/how we need to interact with them differently than our female clients. This includes how we talk about what we do as homeopaths, market ourselves, schedule and bill for our appointments and interact in the office. In the second session, Karen will present cases, therapeutics and coaching for clients with premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. In the final session, Alastair will present his most commonly used remedies for men, and specific therapeutics and case work for prostatitis, orchitis and balanitis. Our materia medicas and reference journals have limited information about sexual and reproductive health - get current information from practitioners who are working with these issues day to day.
