NOTHING ON YOUR CALENDAR THIS WEEKEND? COME JOIN US! |
Mark your calendar for... EXCITING WEEKEND SEMINARS Pacific Academy is bringing 3 full weekend seminars to you during this academic year! December 5 - 6 Pediatric Behavior Disorders Join us for a full weekend by Tim Shannon, ND. Tim practices homeopathy in Portland, with much experience in mental and behavioral issues. This weekend will combine case work and materia medica in a way that will prepare you to work successfully with these kinds of cases! Tim has a profound understanding of health, disease and materia medica - this will be a great opportunity to study with a wonderful teacher who has not been in the Bay area before. February 18-21 Homeopathy and Midwifery MJ Hanafin is a homeopath and midwife with a gift for teaching practical material. This four day seminar will be split into two sections. Feb 18-19 will be for midwives and doulas, covering labor, delivery and the immediate post-partum period. Non-midwives will be allowed to audit, but not ask questions, as it will be assumed that all attendees will have obstetric training. Feb 20-21 will be for homeopaths, covering problems of pregnancy, lactation issues, working with the nursing couple, and post-partum depression. Midwives and doulas will be allowed to audit, but not ask questions, as it will be assumed that all attendees have a foundational understanding of homeopathy. MJ is a great teacher with a wealth of knowledge coming from England to teach for us, and this is a rare opportunity so put it on your calendar. March 13 - 14 Issues of Individuation Tim Shannon, ND returns for another full weekend of case-based training. The successful individuation as a person is key to all further development of the self. When this process of individuation does not take place, or is impaired by circumstances or family, the person is limited. Tim will blend case work, materia medica and basic developmental psychology in this class. These are such common issues that this is an area where all of us can learn more! |
And look forward to... CONTINUING EDUCATION LECTURES (dates TBA soon!)
Cell Salts: Adjunct in Everyday Case Work This full day class will focus on the practical side of using cell salts in every day case work, by Karen Allen. A brief review of cell salt basics will be followed by patterns in face, body and pathology that suggest specific cell salts. Lots of cases will provide ample opportunity to learn and practice applying the guidelines for their use in acute and chronic situations. In India, there are traveling practitioners who go from village to village, using only cell salts to help the sick! These are powerful adjuncts, and our clients will have improved outcomes if we learn to use them. Pediatric Asthma The nagging cough of a child that does not go away can be the early indicator of asthma. Ifeoma Ikenze, MD will be teaching a full day of information about children and asthma, giving you a clear understanding about what is common and uncommon with this complaint, remedies and posology strategies that are most often used, and excellent information about lac-felinum as a leading remedy in pediatric asthma. For those of you who missed the excellent shorter presentation Ifeoma gave on this topic at the NCH conference last March, you have a second chance. She has agreed to expand the material to a full day, and we are fortunate to have her. Plan to attend! Organ Affinities: Indications of Organ Weakness, and Methods of Remediation The famous British homeopath, James Compton Burnett, taught us that a person could only become as healthy as the weakest organ or body system that limited the health overall. Sometimes a good constitutional remedy is limited by a weakness in an organ that just can't "make the jump to light speed" with the rest of the body. Join Karen Allen in this class to learn how to recognize weakness or disturbance of the liver, spleen, pancreas, stomach, lungs and heart in your clients, and find out how to nurture and strengthen these organs in ways that will allow constitutional remedies to act more deeply and profoundly! Nonverbal Communication: All that Clients DON'T Say Out Loud Spend a day learning how to read body language and nonverbal cues from your clients. The morning half of the day will cover soma and physiology, and the afternoon will cover NLP. It is estimated that up to 80% of our communication is nonverbal. Sign up for this class in order to be able to perceive so much of what is being said by the body! |
